I’ve just had the privilege of spending a week learning how to weave at The Loom Room in France. The course was a present from family and friends for my birthday – so a real treat to get off the boat and do something creative and learn a new skill.

The thing was – all I could focus on was how I would translate water into weave. I found myself taking the colours of the sea and coast that I’d seen over the last six months and thinking about how to blend and pattern them to vaguely represent them in fabric. The result was basic, but I now have a new obsession and am dreaming of just what I can do on a boat!
